Marula Rehab Telehealth Terms
Marula Rehab Telehealth (the “Service”) involves the use of two-way real-time electronic communications to enable Intensive Outpatient Treatment and other health-related care services where the provider(s) are at a different location from you during the online virtual telehealth treatment or services provided.
Marula Rehab Telehealth (the “Service”) involves the use of two-way real-time electronic communications to obtain information about you that may be used for assessments, consultations, treatment, and follow-up, and may include any of the following: your medical records, medical images, and output data from medical devices and sound and video files.
Telehealth may provide improved access to Treatment and related Services by enabling you to remain in your home (or at a remote site), while Marula Rehab Staff and Treatment Professionals or providers obtain information from you. There are potential risks associated with the use of telehealth.
These risks include, but may not be limited to:
a. In rare cases, information transmitted may not be sufficient (e.g. poor resolution of images) to allow for appropriate treatment services by the provider, and in this case, you may be asked to review the same information upon its uploading to your client portal. The provider may also refer you to a third-party site for additional treatment and or counseling. Should Marula Rehab conclude that its services are, or will not be, a benefit to you for the most optimal recovery.
b. Delays in treatment assessments, evaluations, and treatment services could occur due to deficiencies or failures of the equipment; and
c. In very rare instances, security protocols, if applicable, could fail, causing a breach of privacy of personal medical information.
By using this site and requesting a telehealth session, you are consenting to a telehealth session and confirming you understand the following:
The laws that protect the privacy and the confidentiality of your medical information and your right to access this information also apply to Telehealth Treatment.
For your telehealth session, you must be in a private area and not include anyone who is not directly involved with your care.
You have the right to withhold or withdraw your consent to the use of telehealth in the course of your care at any time, however, you understand that such may affect your future care or treatment at Marula Rehab due to Marula Rehab providing only “Telehealth Related Services” at this time. (*) In the event of this condition, Marula Rehab will refer you to a face-to-face treatment service closest to your area.
Alternative methods of treatment and care may be available to you, and you may choose one or more of these at any time. These alternatives have been explained to you to your satisfaction.
In an emergency, you understand that you should immediately call 911 or seek help from a hospital in your immediate area. Your telehealth provider may be able to provide you with a reference, but, can’t diagnose or treat you for emergencies.
In the event of a technical problem, you understand that you need to provide a telephone number and an email address (backup contact) where you can be reached to restart or reschedule an appointment.
You understand that under no circumstances shall Marula Rehab, or its associated domains, services, practice plans, and its other affiliated groups, their employees, and agents, be liable in any way for your use of this Service, including but not limited to, any errors or omissions caused by a third-party application, any damage to any computer system, any loss of data or any improper use or disclosure of information caused by you or any person using your username or password.
