General Outpatient

General Outpatient (GOP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment programs both provide structured support for individuals dealing with substance use disorders or mental health challenges, but they differ in intensity and commitment.

General Outpatient (GOP): This program typically involves weekly individual and group therapy sessions. The frequency and duration of treatment are determined by the therapist and patient, and it continues until the patient no longer requires that level of support. GOP is suitable for individuals who have a strong support system and can maintain their recovery while managing daily responsibilities.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP): This program is more structured and requires a greater time commitment, often involving three 3-hour sessions per week. It provides a higher level of care than GOP, focusing on relapse prevention, coping strategies, and recovery management. IOP is ideal for individuals transitioning from inpatient treatment or those who need more support than GOP offers.

The choice between GOP and IOP depends on the severity of symptoms, personal responsibilities, and the level of support needed. If you're unsure which is right for you, Marula Rehab Telehealth professionals can help guide your decision to assure that you enter the right form of treatment at the start of our services.
